A quintet of 3 fiddles, a guitar, and an upright bass in a bar with padded seats.

Sligo, Ireland. This group wasn't playing traditional Irish music, they were playing something closer to what I'd call Appalachian "Holler" music. Appalachian music certainly has Irish roots, but this was closer to Appalachia. As best we could tell there was no Irish traditional music the night we were in Sligo. In Donegal there's one place that has it every night, and a couple others during the week. Doolin has three pub-restaurants that have it every night. (The best we heard was in Doolin.)
