We did far better than most. Unscathed, actually.

That's me telling you we got through Sandy fine. No loss of power, no broken windows, no trees downed. Obviously that's not the case for much of the rest of NYC; we saw plenty of downed trees in Park Slope, but none on our block.

Much still to get through, obviously, in trying to return to normalcy. Subway tunnels were flooded and it will be days before they resume; millions of people are without power; people lost their lives, with some losing their children.

It's a long list. Which brings me to mention the different ways in which different politicians handle natural disasters. For Romney, it was re-branding a campaign event as something related to disaster relief, while still keeping it all about the campaign. For Christie, it was getting down to the business of recovery and refusing to participate in a Romney photo op. And for Obama it was campaign cessation (he had work to do, I guess).

I had something else to say, but my wife came home...
