The DOJ is suing Wells Fargo for defrauding the US Government (that would be you and me) over the quality of its mortgages.
Romney himself might make sure something like that would go through with a Democrat-dominated Congress, but he'll be pressured by the Republican-dominated one he would get (were he to be elected). As it is, we can be grateful we got this with the Congress we have; they fought hard to stop anyone from sitting in charge of the Consumer Protection Bureau, knowing that without a leader the legislation creating the bureau's regulations couldn't be finalized and the department would have no power.
And we know how the Republicans fought to block Dodd-Frank, as soft as it was. (As well as how disingenuous the Mittster was last Wednesday, bemoaning the weaknesses his party put in.)
Look, if you want banking reform, you can't look to the Republicans, and you can't look to Mitt.
