My mind is sufficiently unbefuddled from memory loss that I remember when Paul Ryan promised us a lot of specifics at the RNC, that he and Romney wouldn't dodge the tough questions. Then they went on to sell us all these cool band uniforms:
Wallace tried to get Ryan to explain how the tax plan achieved all of these goals and pointed out that the plan was "not revenue neutral unless you take away the deductions," but the Wisconsin Republican deflected the question:...
...So the basic message from Ryan here is: Trust us--the math adds up.
Between the ellipsis is a chunk from the interview wherein the Boy Wizard said he could explain it, there just wasn't enough time. Well, guess what Mr. Ryan: we actually do have the time. And I bet that if you called up Paul Krugman or Dean Baker and offered to explain it, they'd listen earnestly and write down all the details. Because it's that important, and you're such a smart guy, I'm confident you can explain it to their satisfaction. OK?
