And we're back, and ready to gripe...
I can't believe how many have missed the brilliance of Clint Eastwood's address to the convention. Primarily they missed it because they thought he was addressing the convention; but I happen to think he was addressing the uncommitted, undecided voters out there, and was talking over the heads of the delegates and base viewers. This could be my nature filling a vacuum, but his endorsement of Romney was pretty tepid... And what was with the attack of Obama from the left (not closing Gitmo)? All in all, I have two choices before me: either he was as inept and off-course as the punditry conclude, OR, he was deliberately approaching independents from a position of credibility and gently nudging them to settle on Romney. You certainly don't rally the base with a speech like that. And I think Eastwood is just too cagey to deliver a simple us-them speech. He knows the world has nuances. I'm really impressed with what he did.
And now, here's Wanda Jackson.
