Justice may not come quick enough.
The New York Times has learned that Obama campaign lawyers have filed a complaing with the Federal Elections Commission that Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS is a political group, and as such, should be forced to disclose its donors.
As the article points out, the Rove group may just run the clock out, escaping the impact of a decision. But quite honestly, while I understand the issue of protecting speech, why is anonymous speech protected? (And no, I don't like the lack of accountability in fly-by-night ads which are full of lies. Stand behind your donations.)
And I will again resort to this point: the conservatives' need for such mechansisms is testimony to their lack of an argument.
